Purple Passion is a beautiful cocktail that combines fruit juice, vodka and grenadine. The colour is absolutely amazing, but the taste is even better. Typically, this tipple used grapefruit and cranberry juice which are both fairly tart so don’t expect Purple Passion to be a super sweet drink.
Back in the day, this was a ready-mixed cocktail made by Everclear but you can no longer purchase it. That’s why we came up with some great recipes that taste almost like the real deal!

Purple Passion Drink — The Recipes
The Straightforward Purple Passion Cocktail
To Make This, You Will Need:
- 60ml vodka
- 60ml grapefruit juice
- 60ml cranberry juice
- A dash of grenadine
- Ice
How to Make It:
1. Grab a shaker.
2. Fill it with ice.
3. Add the all the ingredients.
4. Shake thoroughly until the mix is chilled.
5. Strain using a finely meshed sieve into a highball glass.
A highball glass is one that can hold 240 to 350ml.
The Purple Passion Shot
To Make This, You Will Need:
- 30ml vodka
- 15ml triple sec
- 30ml grape juice
- Dash of cranberry juice
- Ice
How to Make It:
1. Find a shaker.
2. Put the ice into it.
3. Add the rest of the ingredients
4. Shake vigorously until chilled.
5. Strain using a finely meshed sieve into shot glasses.
The Orange Purple Passion
To Make 8 Of These, You Will Need:
- 300ml vodka
- 180ml orange liqueur (Grand Marnier or Cointreau work the best)
- 8 dashes grape juice
- 8 dashes cranberry juice
- Ice
How to Make It:
1. Grab a shaker.
2. Fill it with ice.
3. Add the rest of the ingredients.
4. Shake thoroughly until everything is chilled.
5. Strain using a finally meshed sieve into 8 shot glasses.
6. Enjoy!
The Cranberry Purple Passion
To Make One of These, You Will Need:
- Ice
- 45ml vodka
- 60ml cranberry juice
- 15ml black raspberry liqueur
How to Make It:
1. Get all of the ingredients together.
2. Grab a shaker.
3. Fill the shaker with ice.
4. Pour the vodka and black raspberry liqueur into it.
5. Shake, shake, shake!
6. Strain using the shaker’s fixed sieve into mason jars (anything will do but these look gorgeous).
7. Top up with cranberry juice as required.
8. Add fresh ice to the glasses.
9. Enjoy!
The Lemonade Purple Passion
To Make One of These, You Will Need:
- Lemon wedge
- Lemonade
- Lemon-lime soda (equal parts lemonade and lemon-lime soda)
- 45ml vodka
- 30ml Chambord
- Ice
How to Make It:
1. Fill a highball glass with ice.
2. Add in the vodka and Chambord.
3. Top up with the equal parts lemon-lime soda and lemonade.
4. Stir gently.
5. Garnish using the lemon wedge.
The Purple Passion Martini
To Make One of These, You Will Need:
- 45ml vodka
- 30ml blue curacao
- 15ml grenadine
- Ice
- Lime twist
How to Make It:
1. Put the vodka, grenadine and blue curacao into a cocktail shaker.
2. Shake thoroughly.
3. Put the glasses into the fridge to chill.
4. Once chilled, strain the mixture into them.
5. Add ice to the glass.
6. Garnish with the lime twist.
The Purple Passion Cocktail Shot
To Make It, You Will Need:
- 37ml vodka
- 22ml triple sec
- 1 dash of grape juice
- 1 dash of cranberry juice
How to Make It:
1. Grab a shaker.
2. Put the vodka, triple sec, grape juice and cranberry juice into it.
3. Shake, shake, shake!
4. Strain into a shot glass.
5. Enjoy!
The Non-Alcoholic Purple Passion Drink (Purple Cow)
To Make 8 of These, You Will Need:
- A full container of grape juice
- 79 litres of vanilla bean ice cream (find the best quality one)
How to Make It:
1. Put one or two ice cream scoops into a glass.
2. Add the grape juice over the ice cream to fill up the glass.
3. Serve immediately and enjoy!
The Purple Passion Daiquiri
To Make Two of These, You Will Need:
- 90ml white rum
- 1 lime
- 1 tsp fine sugar
- 15ml parfait amour
- Ice
- 2 martini glasses
How to Make It:
- Juice the lime by squeezing it or using a proper juicer.
- Put enough ice into a shaker to fill it most of the way ( ¾ ).
- Add the ingredients to the shaker.
- Put the lid on.
- Shake, shake, shake!
- Put the two martini glasses into the fridge until chilled.
- Once chilled, strain the mixture using a finely meshed sieve into the martini glasses. Do not add ice.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
If you feel like you want to add ice to the actual glasses, you will have to use a small cocktail glass to ensure there is enough space for it.
The Alcoholic Purple Passion
To Make One Quart of These, You Will Need:
- 180ml frozen grape juice (concentrated, thawed out)
- 535ml cold water
- 180ml vodka
- 120ml lemon juice
- 25g sugar
- Ice cubes
- Purple grapes
- Mint leaves
How to Make It:
1. Find a large pitcher.
2. Put the lemon juice, sugar, thawed grape juice, cold water and vodka into it.
3. Stir until all of the sugar has dissolved.
4. Cover it.
5. Chill it in the fridge.
6. When serving, grab the glasses and pop in some ice cubes.
7. Add the grapes and mint leaves into them too.
8. Pour in the cocktail.
9. Serve immediately and enjoy!
